Alex von Furstenberg: Charity First, Business Second
![]()
Alex von Furstenberg emphasizes philanthropy. Alex, the son of fashion entrepreneur Diane von Furstenberg and Prince Egon of Furstenberg, has taken the financial industry by storm. He founded the investment firm Ranger Global Advisors, LLC, where he works as CIO. Organizations such as the asset management firm W.P. Stewart & Co., Ltd., the internet conglomerate InterActiveCorp, and the non-profit Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation all have Alex von Furstenberg on their Board of Directors. The foundation funds several direct-service organizations in order to create a better environment in communities throughout the country, the idea being that when a community thrives, its members flourish.
As part of his work with the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, Alex also works with the National Advisory Council of ACRIA, the nonprofit OUR TIME, and the Board of Friends of the High Line. Where there was once the foundation of a high line railway, there now stands a beautiful park thanks to the hard work and generosity of Alex von Furstenberg. Disease research, childcare, education, human rights, environmental advocacy, and arts and humanities are all areas that are close to his heart. Despite having an inordinately busy schedule, Alex von Furstenberg still finds time for those who were not as fortunate as he has been.
